What FreePBX gives you

FreePBX is the web front end to Asterisk, the open-source telephony engine. It turns a famously configurable dial plan into forms: extensions, trunks, inbound routes, queues, IVRs and time conditions, with modules for everything from call recording to CRM pop-ups.

Because it is Asterisk underneath, nothing is hidden — when the GUI stops short, the configuration files are still there, on an instance you have root on.

Getting started

Four steps from sign-in to a running application. The full walkthrough, with screenshots, is in the knowledge base.

  1. 01
    Log in to the Cloud Portal

    Sign in at portal.antyxsoft.io and start creating an instance, choosing the region closest to your users.

  2. 02
    At Select Template, open Marketplace App

    In the instance creation flow, switch from operating-system images to the Marketplace App tab.

  3. 03
    Pick the template and deploy

    Select the ready-to-go template, confirm the plan and region, then review and deploy. The instance boots with the application installed.

  4. 04
    Finish the application setup

    Open the web GUI, create the administrator account, then add a SIP trunk and your first extensions.

Before it carries real traffic

  • Attach a Cloud Firewall that opens only the ports this application needs, with management access limited to your own addresses.
  • Schedule backups covering both the database and the application's data directory.
  • Add a Block Storage volume for data that will outgrow the instance disk.
  • Put it inside a VPC when it needs private access to other services.

Frequently asked questions

Is FreePBX really free?
The platform is open source with no licence fee. Some commercial modules from the vendor are paid, but a complete phone system can be built without them.
Can I edit the Asterisk configuration directly?
Yes — you have root access. The GUI writes standard Asterisk configuration, and custom include files let you add dial plan logic the interface does not cover.
Which SIP providers work with it?
Any standards-compliant provider. Trunks are configured with the credentials your carrier supplies, and handsets can be any SIP-compliant phone or softphone.
